Are You Really Helping?

When God created the heavens and the earth and after He created man, I imagine that God would have stepped back a bit and thought to Himself "hmmmm, there is something that is not complete about everything I created and then He said "let us create a helper and a companion for man" and the woman was created.

God said He would create a help meet or helper for man, what does a help meet or an helper mean literarily?

Rebekah typifies the exact picture of the word "helper". Abraham wanted to marry a wife for Isaac and he told his chief servant Eliezer to go back to his family and pick a wife for Isaac.

When he got to the city of Nahor where Abraham's family stayed, he prayed that the right woman should be the one who will give him water and also fetch water for his camels.

Eliezer went with an impressive entourage, he went with 10 camels (in the world of today, 10 Toyota Prado Jeeps, I can imagine that they were all black with tinted glass 😁) all loaded with gold, money and precious gifts.

Rebekah showed up, fetched water for the servant and also the camels and everyone was refreshed.

I am convinced that the role of a wife is not to help you pay the rent or the school fees but to refresh the atmosphere. After a long day at work, you need a conducive atmosphere, you need a nest without thorns, you need a place where you can be yourself.

The right woman gives you peace of mind and her passion is to ensure that you don't get distracted so you can focus on the things God has called you to do. The right woman is concerned about your spiritual, physical and mental well being, she refreshes.

So I pose this question to all wives and wives to be, dear wifey, are you really an helper?

You too can be a social media evangelist. Please share so that others can be blessed as you have been blessed. #ThankYouJesus
