Be Under The Influence of The Holy Spirit

“Get me some coke,  get my dealer,  you know I cant go on that stage without my drag”. Luna snorted a line of cocaine and downed half a bottle of Vodka, his head spun for a few minutes but by the time he opened his eyes,  he felt on top of the world,  it was showtime and that’s why his fans loved him.  He could hear the fans screaming “Luna,  Luna, Luna! “ He couldn’t wait to meet them, as the chants grew louder,  he broke into a sprint and when he showed up on stage,  the crowd went wild. He gave his fans a terrific show and as the show ended, the drugs wore off.

He got back to his room and began to cry,  he needed help but he couldn’t stop taking drugs,  there were too many expectations from his fans and his record label. He was a brilliant artist and a song writer but it was as though he couldn’t access his creative side without drugs.
He remembered how he started,  a talent scout had seen him sing in church and they had invited him over and after that they signed a contract.  His first single exploded and since then he had never looked back.  There was a day he had to perform 4 shows in one night and one of his assistants had slipped him cocaine just to help him get through the night. He was impressed with his own performance and since then he had become hooked.
“God I know you hate what I am doing but if you will just let me use cocaine for my next show I will stop”. It was while performing at that show that he slumped and he was diagnosed with kidney failure.  The doctors tried their best to save him but it was too late.  Luna died at the age of 27, he was a music legend that the world would never forget.

The biggest stars the world has ever known has been lost to substance abuse; Bob Marley,  Michael Jackson,  Elvis Presley,  Whitney Houston,  Amy Winehouse and most recently, Prince.
Why were these artists so dependent on drugs?  Why couldn’t they stop?  Why were they so addicted?  I will tell you.  If you have ever spoken to any man of God doing phenomenal things for God,  he would tell you that he cannot do without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Most High God,  the Spirit of wisdom and inspiration. Whatever the Holy Spirit inspires  is attractive to men,  anywhere the Holy Spirit lives is a magnet to men.
The devil also seeks to possess men to ultimately destroy them so he links it with substance abuse.  Most of Bob Marley’s  songs were under the influence of Marijuana and he eventually died from that abuse. Same can be said of many of these artistes. They know that they are more inspired and they perform better under the influence of these drugs and they can’t stop because with each album and each performance comes the demand for a greater achievement and so their reliance on self destructive behaviours eventually kills them.  The devil has deceived many to believe that they cannot access their God given gift without the influence of drugs.
Beloved you have 2 ways to success,  the devil can make you rich,  there is no doubt about that but it comes with lots of sorrows and eventually untimely death.  When the Spirit of the Most High also rests on you,  your success is guaranteed!  Only that the blessings of God demands responsibility from you. You cannot live your life anyhow if you want the Holy Spirit around you all the time.
The Bible says in Proverbs 10:22 that the blessings of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow with it.  Stay with Jesus my friend. The other side with the hot ladies and the booze may seem very attractive but the end is bitter and destructive.
