"Good morning daddy, school is resuming next week " Tade looked at his daughter and smiled, she was growing so fast, he couldn't believe she was now in the university. "Good morning Princess, how much is your school fees and what are the things you need for school?" Princess hugged her father and said "I will write you a loooong list, the school fees is five hundred thousand naira"
When Princess left, Tade checked his account and saw that he would need to make some extra money, he had done some contracts that he was yet to be paid for so he called the offices and they asked him to come and collect his cheque.
By the time Princess was ready for school, all the money she needed was ready and Tade simply handed it over to her. She hugged him and said "thank you daddy". She would never know the buttons daddy had to press to make sure that money was available.
Many Christians suffer from identity crisis, they come to church, pray, tithe, sow seeds but they miss out on one important aspect; they don't see God as their Father! Some people may find it difficult to relate to God as their father because they may not have a good relationship with their earthly father but I want you to compare God with the nicest most loving person you have ever met in your life and where the love that person has for you stopped is where God's love for you began!
If you worked for everything you have in your life there is something terribly wrong! It means there is no mercy or favor factor in your life! The bible says in Psalm 127:2 (NLT)
It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.
God has not called you to work for everything, hard work is important but God also promised that He will multiply your efforts. Isaiah 60:17 (NIV) says Instead of bronze I will bring you gold.
God wants us to be excellent and hardworking but he has not called us to do it alone! David killed Goliath with a stone but from that moment on, we never heard that he used a stone any longer, he became an excellent swordsman!
Whenever you have a challenge that is above your pay grade, don't start thinking about who will lend you money or additional work you can do, the first response to crisis is prayer! God will give you a strategy or send you help! One of the things you should also do is look for people going through problems you can solve and be the answer to their prayers as well.
The bible says in Matthew 17:11(NIV) If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
I want you to note the word "GIFT" free of charge! Believe it or not, the reason why God is blessing you only through your salary is because you don't believe in God's free favors and free gifts, you believe you have to work for it and God always works with your faith!
The DAY YOU START BELIEVING IN RECEIVING FREELY FROM GOD IS THE DAY YOU START THINKING LIKE A SON!
If your father owned everything, can he give you a land, house, cars, money? The question I ask you again is how do you see God?
