Whose Voice Do You Listen To?

Janet lay on her deathbed with tears in her eyes, her life flashed before her eyes and she regretted listening to all the advice she had ever followed.
At just 24 years old, Janet was dying from HIV/AIDS because she listened to and followed the wrong advice. Janet's father left for good when she was 5 years old and she was raised by her mum. For as long as she could remember, her mum always told her "men are unreliable, you have to use what you have to get what you want". Her mum was the only person who really cared about her and she trusted and believed anything her mother said.
At 18 years old, Janet was an irresistible beauty. Her skin was smooth and shone like butter, her long black hair reached down to her waist, her brown eyes always sparkled as though tinged with fire, her voice was soft and sweet, her laugh was hearty and infectious.
She was every man's dream and they came to her in droves; the young, the old and all of them were rich. Her mum had warned her never to have anything to do with any man who did not have money.
She slept with all of them, she never turned back any man as long as he had money and she changed their status; they moved from a one bedroom to a beautiful 6 bedroom mansion. She began to think of investing the money she had accumulated in the last 6 years when she fell sick; the doctor told her she was HIV positive, she could feel her world crumble.
Janet stared at her mum, her brown eyes flashed like fire and she said "Mummy you led me to this point, I will never forgive you". Janet breathed her last and died.
The most tragic thing that could happen to any man is to follow the wrong advice. The wrong advice could ruin your life and you would never realise it till the very end. Whose advice are you following? Whose voice do you trust?
Please listen to me! Don't follow the advice of any man who is not submitted to God! Before you take that man's advice, does he love God? Is he submitted to his pastor? Does he think he is smarter than God? Does he pay his tithe? Does he think the church is an occasional event? Don't follow any man who does not make the bible his final authority!
Many destinies have been truncated because of wrong advice. The bible says ' the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom' (Proverbs 1:7). If he fears the Lord, he will give good advice.
Don't take advice from a man because he has money and has many cars and beautiful clothes. The devil gives all those as well. Take advice from a man because you see the fruit of his relationship with God. May God help us not to follow the wrong people. Amen
