The Blessing!

Louis was driving his 2015 Mercedes GL450 around his former neighbourhood when he suddenly parked and began to cry; they were tears of joy and thanksgiving to God. He remembered how he used to wait in front of his house to carry okada (motorbikes) on this very same street were he was now driving his car.
There used to be a Mercedes showroom not far from his house and as the okada drove him past the showroom, he would stare at the cars longingly and wonder if the day would ever come when he would be able to walk into the car shop and order one of the Mercedes. That was in the past, right now he had every model of all the latest Mercedes Benz.
Louis was a devout christian and a choir leader in his church; in those early days, he would lead powerful praise and worship sessions and after church, he would wait for the okada to pick him up while church members sped along in their cars. There were many times he was so broke that he would drink garri after church on Sunday.
Many times, he felt like God had abandoned him but things began to change gradually. God began to bless him with singing engagements at weddings and birthdays so he moved from okada to carrying cabs and then he bought his first Mercedes and gradually he became an outstanding success and a point of reference to how God blesses His people.
The bible says in Deuteronomy 28:2 (ESV) And all these blessings shall come upon you and ‪#‎overtake‬ you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God.
I like to see the blessing as a car on top speed which suddenly came from the back and overtakes you and then the driver of the car gets down at every junction and tells anyone who cares to listen "there is a gentleman named Adewale coming through this way soon, when you see him, make sure you bless him, give him money, give him whatever it is that will make him happy".
God's blessing is not based on how much of hustling you have done, it is the reward for obedience and faithfulness. Many Christians love miracles but wise Christians run after the blessing of the Lord. Proverbs 10:22 (NIV) says; The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.
Do what God requires of you and the blessing will come on you and overtake you; you may ask, what does God require of me?
1. Have faith in God and believe that He exists. (Hebrews 11:6)
2.Love God with all your heart (Matthew 22:37)
3. Love your neighbour as yourself (Matthew 22:37)
4. Pay your tithe, the tithe activates the blessing on your life. (Malachi 3:10)
5. Honour your wife/husband, parents and authority. (Exodus 20:12)
6. Take care of the poor (Proverbs 19:17)
7. Attend a bible believing church and be planted in that church, you can't be blessed if you run from church to church every Sunday. (Psalm 92:13)
If you live your life this way, praying will not be a challenge to you and you would have set yourself up on God's railway. There is only one destination and that is overwhelming, mind blowing success in whatever you lay your hands on.
