"Don't leave us like this, fear God, look at your daughter, what happened to you, this is not natural o". Shola cried and pleaded as her husband packed his things out of the house, she never believed a day like this could come. Her husband was the most prayerful, loving and caring man she knew until 2 years ago when he won a contract worth a million dollars.
Shola and Jide started from the scratch, it was love and God that held them together; even though they faced a lot of challenges, nothing was strong enough to tear them apart.
The change started when Jide came back from a business trip in America. He started chatting on the phone a lot and he put a password on his phone, this was something he never did. Shola was able to snoop though Jide's phone on the day he forgot to password it; tears began to fall from her eyes, her husband was having an affair.
She discovered that the woman was Franca, Jide's ex girlfriend and she was married. According to the chat, she left Jide because he was very poor back in the days they were dating and it seemed as though Jide never got over her. Now that Jide had money, she wanted to leave her husband if Jide would leave his wife.
Shola felt as though a hot iron had pierced through her heart, the pain was indescribable. When Jide saw her with his phone, he was shocked, he knew from the tears that she saw everything.
"Have you forgotten you are a Christian? Have you forgotten what the bible said?". "I am sorry you had to find out this way Shola but life is short, I need to be with who makes me the happiest".
Jide eloped with Franca and they seemed happy for a while. The first tragedy that struck was that Jide's business began to decline, then he discovered that Franca was fetish; he discovered a pot with palm oil and leaves under their bed and then Jide fell sick. A year later, he was dead. Shola mourned her husband for a while, few years later, God sent her another man. Today she's happily married with a baby boy in her new home.
The bible says in Proverbs 6: 26-33 (NLT) For a prostitute will bring you to poverty,b
but sleeping with another man’s wife will cost you your life.
27Can a man scoop a flame into his lap
and not have his clothes catch on fire?
28Can he walk on hot coals
and not blister his feet?
29So it is with the man who sleeps with another man’s wife.
He who embraces her will not go unpunished.
30Excuses might be found for a thief
who steals because he is starving.
31But if he is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole,
even if he has to sell everything in his house.
32But the man who commits adultery is an utter fool,
for he destroys himself.
33He will be wounded and disgraced.
His shame will never be erased.
If you are a married man and you have started longing for another woman or an ex girlfriend you wished you married. Listen! That is the devil at work, he is trying to destroy you, run for your life! You cannot fully recover the moment you cross that path.
Do the right thing, do whatever needs to be done! Delete her from your phones, stop talking to her. She may be offended but it will keep you alive. May God have mercy on us all.
