Fear Not!

Prophet Shima danced in circles and jerked uncontrollably, his dreadlocks and his movement reminded one of Bob Marley in a concert. His white garment exposed his dusty bare feet from time to time.
"Kneel down! Jah tells me that you will soon marry but you should not have a big wedding, make it a secret because your destiny does not like big celebrations, if you disobey me, you will die on your wedding day".
Kemi was 23 years old when she got this prophecy from their family prophet and from that moment on, she made up her mind to never have a big wedding although it was what she really wanted. She was afraid of what the prophet had said.
Two years later, she met Gbenga. He was everything she wanted; handsome, charming and Godly. 6 months into their relationship, Gbenga proposed and Kemi was ecstatic but also afraid because Gbenga was an extrovert and he had many friends. He had started talking about 10 grooms men and hiring a hall that could accommodate 1000 people.
Kemi had to tell Gbenga about the prophecy and he laughed so hard that she looked very stupid. Gbenga opened his bible and began to explain to Kemi that God wanted weddings to be celebrated except in an event when both parties could not afford to celebrate their union with their loved ones but NEVER out of fear. Gbenga reminded her that Jesus' first miracle recorded in John 2 was at a wedding.
Gbenga told his intended that they needed to pray and fast to cancel any negative proclamation and they did. The day came; Gbenga and Kemi married in grand style. It's been 5 years and they are blessed with two beautiful children.
Every decision you make will either be from fear or faith. The devil wants you to live in fear! Why have you not changed your car after 5 years even though you can afford it? You are afraid of what people will say and that they may steal the car. Why have you not gone on your leave from the office in 10 years? You are afraid that someone will take your job before you come back.
Fear and faith work alike. Fear is confidence in the devil while faith is confidence in God. Fear will damn you to a lifetime of pain and sorrow while faith will cause your joy to explode every day.
The bible says about fear in Job 3:25 (NIV) What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me. Your fears will come true if you believe them while the things you have faith in will also come to pass.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) tells us: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Fear is of the devil, faith is from God. How will you live your life from now on? Will you believe the lies of the devil or believe the word of God? I bind every spirit of fear in you from now on in Jesus name, let faith rise up in you. Amen
