God is Your Help in Trouble

Felix put his head on the dashboard of his Mercedes Benz S600 and cried like a baby. His world was crashing down; the oil servicing firm he had built in the last 30 years was going up in smoke. Where had he gone wrong? He had kept financial records, insured all his properties and even hired only the best students from Ivy League schools yet this catastrophe had hit him.
One of his offices in North East Nigeria was bombed recently and this scared off all his clients; they did not believe their business was safe with him, he had mortgaged all he had on a billion dollar deal and this catastrophe had happened, in the blink of an eye, he had gone from one of the richest men in Nigeria to nothing!
Who could he turn to? All his friends looked as though they were sympathetic but his bankers told him they were already bidding for his properties. "Jesus I know you exist, please show up for me, I need your help. Please forgive me for not being a good Christian, please be merciful to me. I promise to serve you from now on".
Felix began to pray like he had never done in 30 years, the last time he attended a church service was 20 years ago, he saw himself as a self made man but at this moment, he realised he could not do this on his own.
After the prayer, he felt so much better and a peace he could not understand took over him. He laughed and he wanted to play some Gospel music but he had none in his car, so he sang a hymn he knew 'How Great Thou Art'.
Suddenly his phone rang; it was one of his clients, "Mr. Felix, we have decided to give you another chance, please be careful". He wanted to scream but he maintained his composure. After he dropped the call, he parked his car and knelt down on the road and began to scream "Thank You Jesus". He did not care who saw him, he knew Jesus had saved him and from this moment on, he would live his life differently.
Beloved, I don't know what you are going through but the bible says in Psalm 46:1 (NIV) God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. If you ask Jesus to help you, He will. It doesn't matter how you have been living your life before now, cry out to Jesus, He will step in, He will help you. Don't waste any more time, ask Him, help is only a prayer away. You will share your testimony in Jesus name. Amen
