An Attitude of Gratitude

There was a lot that Kingsley could complain about, he had no car, he was squatting with a friend and his salary was meagre but he had learnt a very important secret; it was the key of thanksgiving.

Rather than complain about his predicament; Kingsley would say "Thank You Jesus" and he noticed that he always had more than enough. He could not really explain when the miracles took place but he was living above his salary and he didn't have to borrow from anybody, God took care of him.

Ladies and gentlemen, an attitude of gratitude is your escape route out of what you are going through. One of my mentors said" gratitude is magnifying the good things around you while depression is magnifying the bad things around you".

In whatever situation you are in, rather than complain, say "Thank You Jesus". If you are consistent with this attitude, you will soon be out of that trouble, a thankful person can never be stranded.

I want you to give God the high praise in church today, magnify everything He has done for you in this month and give Him quality thanksgiving. God will do more for you. Happy Sunday.

How To Stop Cheating On Your Wife

Richard sat at the edge of the bed with his hands on his head. "What's wrong Sugar?" Tracy asked with mischief in her eyes, he smiled back and said he was fine.

The truth is James was not fine, he was an elder in his church and a married man with a son and here he was in the arms of another woman.



 It had started innocently enough; a meeting at a conference led to exchange of numbers and then he collected her BBM pin and they had started chatting. He had to change her name on his phone and he deleted their chats so his wife would not suspect.

Now here he was in her arms, he had tried to stop talking to her but something kept drawing him, he found her irresistible.

The sexcapades continued for a while until his wife found out; she had been suspecting that something was wrong, he was no longer attentive to her and their son, he was always hiding his phone and picking "business calls" at odd hours.

All hell was let loose, he lost the trust of his wife and his beautiful home was no longer peaceful. He didn't feel like going home anymore because they fought all the time and he couldn't concentrate at work: he had lost 2 major deals in one month and now he was on probation. Richard could see everything he had worked hard for go down the drain. What should Richard do?



The biggest problem with Christians today is their unwillingness to share their struggles and challenges, everyone pretends to be the perfect christian. If you are going through Richard's challenge, do the following;

1.Please seek help, find a man of God, you can talk to, a problem shared is half solved

2. Keep your distance from the woman: don't deceive yourself by thinking you can lead her to Christ in your state. You cannot cast out the devil you are sleeping with.

3. Approach your wife and explain everything to her, let her know you need her support.

4. Pray; many people feel unworthy to come to God at this time but God wants you anyhow. Pray for grace to stand firm and resist temptation. May God help us all in Jesus name.

Linda Ikeji and the Campaign for Gays and Transsexuals





Linda Ikeji’s blog is no doubt one of the most widely read blogs in Nigeria and all over Africa. She has inspired lots of people all over the world to start blogs as well. She is a genius at what she does and she is a great inspiration to me.

However, I have been appalled in recent times by the campaign for gays and transsexuals Linda Ikeji has been promoting. Only today, Friday May 29, 2015, she uploaded a story about a father and son who got married after the son’s adoption was dissolved.  Nigeria has made it clear that Nigeria is anti –gay, why does this woman continue to promote these obscenities? I am very disappointed at this woman who claims she comes from a good Christian family. There are lots of young people who read her blog and I suspect she has been approached by the gay community to clandestinely promote their cause through her blog.

I call on all bible believing Christians and all Nigerians and Africans who hold the sanctity of their children and generations yet unborn dear to call this woman to order, if she continues to post these stories unchecked, she will continue to influence the perception of Nigerian teenagers and youths who in the future will feel there is nothing wrong with being gay, the truth is that homosexuality is demonic and it only leads to destruction.

Let us speak with one voice and call to order this Jezebel who seeks to desecrate our nation through the promotion of sodomy and Babylonian tendencies.

Expect Your Harvest




"We are employing you as our marketing manager, you will work 40 hours a week and your salary will be 6 million naira a year"
James smiled and shook hands with the CEO, those were the words he had been longing to hear for a long time, he had given his best to the company and finally the promotion had come.
If man can reward faithfulness, why then do you not expect God to reward you? The bible says in Isaiah 45:19 that He has not asked us to seek Him in vain.
When you give God your time, energy,money etc EXPECT an harvest. If you give your time to your company and at the end of every month, they give you a cheque why do you think God will not reward your labour?
God says when you give to the gospel, you will get an 100 fold, He says when you give him 10% of your income,He will open the windows of heaven.
The seed you sow may be tiny in your hands but in God's hands, it becomes more than enough. Don't look down on what you have, sow it as a seed and EXPECT an harvest. When the devil brings doubt, tell him to shut up because there is a seed in the ground.

How To Overcome Sexual Temptation





Titi stared at Femi as he lit a post coital cigarette, she felt so dirty and ashamed of herself. Just last Sunday, she had cried to God and made a vow that she would not have sex again till her wedding night but here she was again!
Tears welled up in her eyes, she felt God had forgiven her too many times, she didn't feel like praying but she knew she had to stop this sin if she would ever get right with God. She muttered "help me Jesus" and at that moment, strength came, she stood up from the bed, wore her clothes and told him" Femi, I am sorry I can't continue with this relationship, this is the last time I will come to your house and the last time we will be sleeping together, I have decided to take my walk with God seriously"

Femi looked at her as if something was wrong with her, then he burst out laughing, he was still laughing when she left his apartment, she knew she had done the right thing and as she walked out of that door, she felt so much peace like she had never felt before. She knew she couldn't do this on her own but God's grace was sufficient for her.

Are you going through this same predicament? You are a born again christian but your partner is not and anytime you are together, he/she lures you to sexual sin. Don't give up on yourself because Jesus will not give up on you. The bible says that you should come boldly to the throne of grace and obtain help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16)

There are 3 crucial things you must do:
1. Quit that ungodly relationship: anyone who does not move you closer to God is not your husband/ wife.
2. Associate with friends who have gone through your struggle and are now married or are successfully abstaining from sex.
3. Filter your thoughts: the bible says in Phillipians 4:8 (NIV) whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

Am I Under A Curse?






"Am I under a curse? Do I need to go for deliverance? Is something wrong with me?" These were the thoughts that raced across Chris' mind as he walked home from work, he had just lost his job although he had put his best years in the company. The manager had told him that due to the economic crunch, they were downsizing and unfortunately, he was one of those that had to leave.
Now Chris had no job and he had a wife and 2 children to feed, there was the house rent and the children's school fees as well. What would he tell his wife? How would they survive? What should Chris do?
The bible says in Psalm 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.

You are not under a curse and there is nothing wrong with you, we sometimes go through challenges we don't understand because God wants to bless us in a very big way and where we are would limit what God wants to do in our lives.
Look up to God and let Him show you the next phase of your life. Joseph must have felt that way in prison but see what happened to him at the end, he became prime minister in the land where he was a slave! 
Because you are a child of God, all things will work for your good, God has said in Deuteronomy 31:6, that He will never forsake you, He says you are engraved on the palms of His hands , He says that even if a nursing mother forgets her baby, He will not forget you. (Isaiah 49:15-16)
Trust God to sort you out, don't go and meet any man, spend time in prayer and the word and He will teach you what to do.

What Should Kunle Do?






Kunle is a born again Christian, he loves God with all his heart and he had been believing God for a job. God answered his prayer and he got a job in a bank, he was excited. The bank gave him a car and a house loan and so at the end of every month, they deduct the loan from his salary but the problem was that only a meager sum was left after the deductions.
Kunle had always been a faithful tither but with the loans, he was struggling between paying tithe on what was left after the deductions or from the total salary before the deductions. What should Kunle do?
Beloved, you must understand that the word of God is true! The bible says that if you bring him the tithe which is 10% of your income, He will open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that you cannot contain, God did not stop there, He says you should TEST him or prove Him on this point! (Malachi 3:10)
Are you in the same situation with Kunle? I tell you that it is the tithe that will get you out of debt and it is before the loans are deducted! Jesus Can Take Care of You Better than Alhaji






Jane is a 25 year old working class lady. Before she got her job, she was squatting with a friend but after sometime, her friend pushed her out. She had no job and no place to live. It was while she was at the bus stop with her bags all over the floor and tears in her eyes that Alhaji pulled over and gave her a lift.
Alhaji wiped all of Jane's tears, he got her a job, a Mercedes and a beautiful house; she became Alhaji's mistress although she knew Alhaji was married with children. Life was very good for Jane.
There was a church near Jane's house but she had never attended; for some reason she decided to attend and as the pastor spoke, it was as if he was telling her life story. When the altar call was made, Mary came out and gave her life to Christ.
Jane was very happy, God filled her mind with peace and joy but she was scared; she knew she had to let go of Alhaji, he would stop paying her rent and the Mercedes would be withdrawn. What should Jane do?
The bible says "the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein" (Psalm 24:1). If Alhaji can give you a job, a car and a house because you devoted yourself to him, beloved, God is bigger than Alhaji and He can do much more. God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Don't be afraid to live right, trust God, you will not be put to shame, God will ensure that your life is better, you will look at all the things you thought was a big deal and laugh because God will increase you. Let Go and let God!

God's Thoughts For You Are Superior






Isaiah 55:8 (NIV) For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
I want you to settle this matter in your heart once and for all; you must understand that God's ways are superior! His plans are excellent and there are no mistakes with God.
Whatever you are going through is to achieve God's purpose as long as you are walking in His will and not in disobedience.
Stop feeling bad that things didn't go the way you planned, start seeking God's plan. Stop praying to God for what you want to do, begin to ask God for what He wants you to do.
God's purpose and plan will always come to pass, no matter how crazy things may look right now, God's beautiful plan for your life will come to pass.
You must also understand that God is a lavish God, He never does just enough, He always gives you more than enough. When God sends the blessing, there will always be an overflow, wait for God, it is worth it! You don't ever recover from God's touch.

Mentors and Tormentors




Genesis 31: 6-7 (NIV) You know that I’ve worked for your father with all my strength, yet your father has cheated me by changing my wages ten times. However, God has not allowed him to harm me.
The role of a protégé is to serve a mentor, I have discoverered that there are mentors and tormentors.
A mentor sees your future and he is passionate in ensuring that you get to that future, he/she is a coach, always correcting and encouraging you to ensure you get better. A mentor is not afraid to tell you the truth no matter how bitter it is, your mentor is not interested in your present, his focus is on your future.
A tormentor on the other hand has foresight also like a mentor but he is afraid of your future and will use you for his own purposes, a tormentor will cheat and manipulate you just to keep you around and to ensure that everything God has put in you is used for his own advancement, anything you do to improve your status will be passionately resisted.
What do you do when you are serving a tormentor ?
1. Serve faithfully: you must understand that your reward will come from God, not from any man. They may even belittle your work and never share credit. Keep serving! When you serve man, look up to God for your reward.
2. Report to God: what we do normally is to report to man first or get angry or very rude. What you ought to do is report the matter to God, if you trust God to handle it, He will.
3. Be assured that you will not serve in vain: God always rewards your work. It doesn't matter how long your efforts have been overlooked, a day is coming when God will combine all your faithfulness of many years together and give you your reward.
God rewarded Jacob who served Laban for 14 years, God rewarded David who served Saul faithfully and God also rewarded the Israelis who helped build all the pyramids in Egypt during a 430 year period. You will not leave that place empty handed, trust God!

Vengeance Belongs to God






Romans 12:19 (NLT) Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, "I will take revenge; I will pay them back," says the LORD.
There are certain things that God specifically called His own, He called them "mine". God said silver and gold is His, He said the first is His and then He said vengeance belongs to Him as well.
God takes vengeance very seriously because He is a God of justice. Whenever you decide to right a wrong by yourself rather than going to God, He will make sure that you fail. It simply means you are telling Him that He is not capable of justice.
It doesn't matter what anyone has done to you, the moment you begin to plan revenge, your life becomes limited, you cannot see beyond the vengeance you want to execute and it consumes your life. Every other thing in your life takes a back seat till you pay the person back.
God also begins to mock you by making sure that He makes the wicked live long so that anytime you see them, it causes you more pain.
The bible says in Proverbs 25:21 (NIV) If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. 22In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,and the Lord will reward you.
Beloved the way to revenge against your enemy is to be good to them! God says when you do this, you NOT God will be heaping burning coals on their head. If you heap coals of fire on someone's head, the person is scarred for life!
After this is done, God then says He will reward you! We are all struggling with different types of revenge and vendetta against those who have offended us. I am preaching to myself this morning because I am very prone to revenge.
It is my prayer that God will help us all to leave vengeance to God and be kind to those who have hurt us.

You Can Walk On Water





Matthew 14: 28 (NIV) Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29“Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
You walked on water when you believed God for your school fees and He made a way.
You walked on water when you wanted to get married and there was not enough money, you prayed and help came.
You walked on water when the doctor said you would never have a baby and you prayed, now you have a cute baby.
You walked on water when you didn't have a job, you cried to God to give you a job and now you are employed.
Anytime you believe the word of God despite the situations around you, you are walking on water. Don't focus on what's going on around you, focus on Jesus! Even in your moments of doubt, He will still help you.
It doesn't matter what you are about to do, if you have the word of God to back it up, go right ahead! You will not be put to shame in Jesus name.

God Is With You






Psalm 23:4 (NIV) Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Sometimes we go through tough situations and we wonder why God would let us go through such. We may not be able to understand what we are going through but one thing is clear, He said even in trying times, He will guide us and comfort us.
God has said He will never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Be confident that even though you may not understand what you are going through, you will come out stronger and better and it will glorify God.
I will share 4 tips that will turn your test to a testimony:
1.Watch what you say, let the words you speak be faith filled words, people may wonder why you are talking of abundance when you have nothing but let God be true and all men be liars (Romans 3:4)
2. Have an attitude of thanksgiving. In everything the next words should be "thank you Jesus". Think of the things that are going well in your life and thank God for them. Remember God's faithfulness in the past and thank Him for it.
3. Expect your change to come. Right in the midst of that storm begin to visualise the future, visualise your 6 bedroom duplex even though you are squatting with a friend, visualise your cars, even though you barely have enough money to carry okada. The bible says "surely there is an end and your expectation shall not be cut off. (Proverbs 23:18)
4. Stay away from people who feed your fears. Many people will never see how you see things, don't fight them, refuse to discuss your expectations, associate with and listen to people of faith.
It will happen, don't be depressed, feed and overdose on the word of God. Your change will come!
