Dwelling in the Secret Place






Psalm 91:1 (NKJV) He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I want you to take note of the word 'dwell', it means 'to remain for a time', I like the other meaning which says 'to live as a resident'. Those who live as a resident in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Have you ever walked under the hot sun and suddenly you find a big tree with branches that shade you from the sun? Did you notice that although the sun was blazing and the heat was killing but under the shade of that tree, the air was cool?
That's what it means to abide under the shadow of the Almighty, it doesn't matter what is happening around you, your life runs smoothly, you don't lack, you don't fall sick, you can't identify with many challenges people are facing. It is because God has built a wall around you with His shadow, it is the reason nothing can touch you without God's approval.
How do you dwell in the secret place of the Most High?
1. Prayer: prayer is not what you say every morning and night, it is constant conversation with God.
2. Meditate on the word: think of God's commandments and promises and apply it to present day reality.
3. Godly music : create an atmosphere anywhere you are by playing worship songs, you don't have to increase the volume, let it play in the background at home or in the office.
3. Keep your thoughts pure: the bible says in Phillipians 4:8 (NIV) Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.
Your actions are an extension of your thoughts. May we all receive grace to constantly live as residents in God's presence. Amen.
